FAQ
What do people wear?
You’ll see a wide range - from dresses or slacks and button-ups to jeans, hats, and casual wear. There’s no dress code here. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and at home.
Do you accommodate the Handicapped?
Our main entrance is wheelchair accessible via a ramp. At this time, the children’s ministry area is located downstairs and is not wheelchair accessible. If you need assistance with children’s ministry, our trained and vetted volunteers would be happy to help. We also have a wheelchair on site in the event that you may need one during service. Please let someone at our Welcome Center know.
What do you have for kids and teens?
*6 Weeks Through 5th Grade* Our Kids Ministry provides age-appropriate, biblical teaching led by caring, well-trained teachers who love children and have a strong biblical foundation. School-aged children enjoy their own worship time, hear Bible stories, participate in discussion, and engage in hands-on activities each week. *Youth Ministry (6th–12th Grade)* We are currently in the process of establishing our youth ministry and are hosting interest-based events along the way. If you’d like to learn more, please email our Youth Director, Daniel Major, at youth@staffordcog.org
What do you believe?
At SCOG, the Bible is our foundation for everything we believe and do. We adhere to the Declaration of Faith of the Church of God (Cleveland, TN), which centers on these core biblical truths: Salvation through Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that salvation is found through Him. Spirit-Empowered Living: We believe in the active presence of the Holy Spirit, empowering believers to live a life of holiness and service. The Hope of Christ’s Return: We look forward with anticipation to the promised return of our Lord. Biblical Foundation: We believe the Scriptures are the inspired word of God and our final authority in all matters of faith. Want to dive deeper? You can read the full Declaration of Faith on the official Church of God website.
Where can I take Communion or recieve prayer?
What are ONE Groups?
ONE Groups are our small group ministry where real life and faith meet. These are casual gatherings of 8–12 people who meet regularly to study the Bible, share a meal, and support one another through prayer. It’s the best way to move beyond the Sunday morning service and find a true sense of belonging at SCOG.
Do you have membership?
Yes! Click here to learn more.
Do I have to be a member to join a ONE Group?
Not at all! Our groups are open to anyone looking for community and spiritual growth.
What are my next steps?
Prayer: We believe in the power of prayer and offer it during every service. You are welcome to come forward to the altar during the designated prayer time. If you prefer a more private setting or feel uncomfortable coming forward, please stay behind after the service. Our pastor would be honored to pray with you individually. Communion: We celebrate Communion corporately on the 5th Sunday of the month. For 2026, please join us on these specific dates: March 29, 2026 May 31, 2026 August 30, 2026 November 29, 2026
